Bermuda’s best prepare for international chess contest

Bermuda’s chess community announced the teams for the World Chess Olympiad 2024, to be held in Budapest from September 10-23.

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda’s chess community is abuzz with excitement as the island nation proudly announces its teams for the World Chess Olympiad 2024, to be held in Budapest from September 10-23. This year marks a special milestone, celebrating 100 years since the founding of FIDE, the world chess federation, adding a historic resonance to the prestigious competition.

The spokesperson said, “Under the expert guidance of Grandmaster Maksimenko and Women Grandmaster Dimitrijevic, both teams have been rigorously preparing for the Olympiad. Their participation symbolizes not just personal achievement, but the collective progress of Bermuda’s chess community.
